Job description
Under the direction of the Radiological Instrument Service Manager of the Radiological Branch at The Ohio Emergency Management Agency in Columbus, Ohio, acts as an electronics calibration and maintenance technician on various State Agency and Partner State Agency Radiological instruments and equipment.

Job Duties include:

Independently repairs, services, & calibrates electronic radiation detection & monitoring equipment (e.g., radiation detectors, personal electronic dosimeters & pocket ion chamber dosimeters). Performs electronic radiation detection & monitoring equipment maintenance & repair; Keeps records of the field exchange & inspection of radiological detection equipment throughout the state; Assists in the wipe testing of the Cobalt 60 Training Source Sets & the Cesium 137 Calibration Sources; Assists county EMA directors with radiation detection equipment needs; Maintains inventory records on the location of radiological equipment. Acts as a member of the State Radiological Emergency Response Team by gathering samples & measuring radiation exposure at the incident site; Advises safety services personnel of actions to take in order to protect the public from radiation exposures; Assists with support duties for non-radiological emergencies in order to meet agency operational needs (e.g., flood damage assessment; the state &/or county Emergency Operations Center assignments).

The candidate will represent the State of Ohio by providing outstanding responsiveness in customer service and maintain relationships with state and county partners, along with County Agencies. Ideal candidate will have experience and general knowledge of electronics and electronic maintenance & repair. Ideal candidate will show excellent ability in interpreting and following procedures, manuals, and handbooks. Ideal candidate will possess excellent oral, written, and computer skills.
