Summary of Responsibilities Responsible for providing operational and technical coordination of daily Radiation Protection evolutions. Additionally, helps to establish and maintain programs for the effective monitoring and trending of current radiological control practices and actively participates in the development of new processes and technologies. Interfaces with other URENCO USA departments to ensure efficient coordination of their activities with radiation protection requirements. Support radiological phases of emergency planning and emergency response. Key responsibilities involve the maintenance of radiological safety for plant personnel, regulatory margin with respect to radiological safety and support of product shipments through radiological material shipment surveys. Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Years of experience: 3+ years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM program
ANSI 3.1 or equivalent DOD or DOE certification

The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
Travel Required: 15% of the time or less as required.
Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
Primary Functions
Directs activities of other Radiation Protection Technicians in the absence of the Radiation Protection Manager
Performs radiation, surface contamination, and airborne surveys in various areas of the site and posts appropriate control signs and barriers as necessary to limit access and prevent personnel radiation over exposures.
Posts appropriate radiological control signs and barriers to limit access and prevent personnel radiation over exposures.
Establishes radiological controls for tasks and has Stop Work Authority for radiological and safety issues.
Develops and Issues radiation work permits.
Sets up, calibrates, performance checks, maintains, and operates radiation detection instruments.
Assists with or implements personnel external dosimetry and bioassay programs.
Monitors and performs minor decontamination of equipment, tools, site facilities and personnel.
Issues and maintains respiratory equipment.
Stocks, issues and maintains adequate quantities of protective clothing, gloves, booties, respirators, etc., as needed
Performs respiratory fit testing as needed.
Conducts radiological pre-job briefings and corrects radiological work performance in the field.
Conducts Radiation Protection Training as required.
Serves as member of Radiological Emergency Team.
Performs general cleaning and housekeeping duties.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed.

Compensation starting at: $72094 - $117573 / year and up dependent on candidate.
