Expected salary range of $146,700 to $163,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for the oversight of dry cask storage operations across the Clean Energy Centers (CECs) to ensure Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) campaign readiness. Responsible for providing subject matter expertise on the design bases of Dry Cask Storage (DCS) systems. Responsible for ensuring that Constellation configuration control processes are applied to DCS activities. Reviews documents required by 10CFR72 regulations. Supports common resolutions to DCS issues and develops resolution for CEC specific issues. Participates in oversight / audits of vendor engineering and fabrication activities, as requested. Responsible for the oversight of dry cask storage operations across the CECs to ensure ISFSI campaign readiness.

 

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

 

  • Provide oversight of targeted DCS projects across Constellation (e.g., first-of-its kind campaigns, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspected campaigns, new Certificate of Compliance (CoC), recurring issues) to ensure ISFSI campaign readiness as well as satisfactory performance during the campaigns. This includes Away-from-Reactor ISFSI (e.g., Zion).
  • Utilization of ISFSI Technical and Licensing knowledge to develop and maintain ISFSI Aging Management Programs.
  • Participate as senior dry cask storage expert, across Constellation and externally, in programs, initiatives, and industry ISFSI-related committees. Interface with dry cask storage vendors, as necessary, to ensure campaign readiness.
  • Review Department of Energy (DOE) claim submittals for reimbursable ISFSI expenses to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 8 years of related experience OR
  • Associate's degree with 10 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 12 years of nuclear or industry dry cask experience
  • Dry cask storage experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to support company activities
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ISFSI Aging Management Programs
  • 50.59 and 72.48 Qualification 
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, industry dry cask storage programs
  • Knowledge of NRC licensing with respect to dry cask storage
  • Knowledge of vendor dry cask storage designs
  • Prior oversight/audit experience in nuclear power
