Now hiring experienced Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) at Decatur in Decatur, IL for Long Term Project Work!

PAY RATE: $40.00/HR-$50.00/HR
Locals Only, No Per Diem or travel offered

Job Description/Duties:

• Perform visual inspections before, during, and after welding operations.
• Ensure welding activities comply with applicable codes, customer requirements, and company quality standards of fabricated and welded components.
• Verify compliance with AWS, ASME, API, and customer specifications.
• Review WPSs, PQRs, and Welder Performance Qualifications.
• Inspect fit-up, joint preparation, weld dimensions, and finished weld quality.
• Coordinate and monitor NDE activities as required.
• Prepare inspection reports and nonconformance documentation.
• Maintain quality records and support internal/external audits.
• Read blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

• 3 - 5 years of welding inspection experience.
• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API standards, and related codes.
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills.
• Heavy industrial, manufacturing, power generation, and/or petrochemical facilities experience.
• NDA certification or experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Lift 50+ pounds.
• High School diploma or GED with a Technical degree preferred.
