R.E. Ginna Clean Energy Center
The R.E. Ginna Clean Energy Center’s single reactor can produce up to 576 megawatts (MW) of clean, emissions-free energy, enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 400,000 homes. The plant, located in Ontario, New York, is named after Robert Emmett Ginna (pronounced guh-NAY), who helped modify the Atomic Energy Act to permit research into using nuclear energy for electricity.
