What POET does

The PRA Operating Experience Tool (POET) converts real U.S. nuclear reactor operating data into inputs for Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA). It replaces generic assumptions with empirical, plant-specific values derived from daily power history and classified outage records across the fleet, and benchmarks them against peer groups and NRC industry baselines.

Initiating event frequenciesShort, medium, and long unplanned transients per reactor-year, from observed forced outages.
Exposure metricsDuration-based days-per-year in each forced-outage class.
Plant state fractionsTime-based operating-state distribution (not inferred thermal state).
Fleet & NRC benchmarkingCompare to peer groups and INL/SPAR industry-average baselines.

Select a plant above to generate its empirical PRA inputs. Single-plant inputs are free; fleet/NRC benchmarking and data export require an Analyst subscription.
