Groundbreaking took place on 30 July 2008. Units 1 and 2 are AP1000 pressurized water reactors supplied by Westinghouse, with construction beginning on 24 September 2009 and 20 June 2010. Fuel loading at Unit 1 began on 22 June 2018, and the units were connected to the grid on 17 August 2018 and 13 October 2018. Units 3 and 4 are CAP1000 reactors, the Chinese version of the AP1000, with construction beginning on 7 July 2022 and 22 April 2023.
