The Mochovce nuclear power plant is in the Nitra Region of Slovakia, between the towns of Nitra and Levice. Its reactors are VVER-440/213 pressurized water reactors.

Construction of Units 1 and 2 began in October 1983. Unit 1 entered commercial operation on October 29, 1998, and Unit 2 was connected to the grid on December 20, 1999. Construction of Units 3 and 4 started in the 1980s, was halted in 1991, and resumed in November 2008. Unit 3 reached first criticality on October 22, 2022, and was connected to the grid on January 31, 2023.
