The Rivne nuclear power plant is at Varash in Rivne Oblast, Ukraine, and draws cooling water from the Styr River. Units 1 and 2 are VVER-440/213 reactors, and Units 3 and 4 are VVER-1000/320 reactors.

Construction of Unit 1 began on August 1, 1973, and Unit 2 on October 1, 1973. Unit 3 began in February 1980 and Unit 4 in August 1986. The units were connected to the grid on December 22, 1980 (Unit 1), December 22, 1981 (Unit 2), December 21, 1986 (Unit 3), and October 10, 2004 (Unit 4).
