Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
8 runs
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Comanche Peak 2 has logged 8 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 537 days, and its runs average 522 days.

Construction began on December 19, 1974, for both units. Each unit has a Westinghouse four-loop pressurized water reactor. Unit 1 was first connected to the grid on April 24, 1990, and entered commercial operation on August 13, 1990. Unit 2 was connected on April 9, 1993, and entered commercial operation on August 3, 1993. In September 2008 the owner applied for a combined license for two additional reactors, but expansion work was suspended by November 2013.
