Breaker-to-Breaker Runs 2 runs
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Kewaunee has logged 2 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 492 days, and its runs average 485 days.

Construction began on August 6, 1968. The plant used a single Westinghouse two-loop pressurized water reactor, which connected to the grid on April 8, 1974, with commercial operation starting on June 16, 1974. Dominion announced on October 22, 2012 that it would close the plant for economic reasons, and it was permanently shut down on May 7, 2013. SAFSTOR was selected as the decommissioning method, and the remaining fuel was moved into dry storage casks on July 15, 2017.
